We are Alison and Steve and we became owners of a franchise in Heights Farm Pet Foods in 2018 and we cover Preston and Fylde areas.
After living in Helmshore for 27 years we now live in Warton, on the outskirts of Lytham, with our beloved saluki, Chance!
Alison and Steve Critchley
Preston & Fylde Coast Areas
We got married in 1987 and lived in Longridge for a few years where we started our family together. Over the years we have had various businesses together as well as our own individual careers. Mine as a teaching assistant for almost 25 years and Steve worked in transport for over 40 years up until 2019!
In 2018, after wanting a complete career change, we joined Heights Farm Pet Foods and started our own business together.
The franchise covering Preston areas was the first area we invested in, an area close to our hearts as this is where we have both lived and where we met, so I suppose you could say, we’ve done a full circle!
After a great first year we then made the big decision to extend our area and expanded into Fylde which, for me, really was like coming home, as I was born in sunny Blackpool!
Our proudest moment to date happened in 2019 when we were recognised by Theo Paphitis of Dragon’s Den fame and awarded one of his Small Business Sunday awards, #SBS! Receiving that winner’s tweet from him is a moment we will never forget!
We love being out and about, whether that’s at a local market or when we are out delivering. Meeting and chatting to our customers is what we love the most and you can always be assured of a warm welcome from us both and we have been known to give away a treat or two!
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you are interested in finding out more about our products or about the free delivery service direct to your door we provide.
We’ve always had a love of animals and have owned various pets over the years but when Chance came into our lives in 2010 our lives changed for the better! We absolutely adore him and love nothing more than being out and about with him!
He has definitely become a popular, well known part of our business and has quite a fan club now!
As pet owners we were keen to feed our own dog on the right food and first came across Heights Farm Pet Foods at a local farmers market and we’ve never looked back, his coat is often commented on and for an old man is still very much like a puppy at times.
He does have his own role within the business, of course, he is officially our chief taste tester!
